I have very nearly finished a 3 month internship at IWANT design. I have learnt a tremendous amount about being a graphic designer working in a studio and have worked on some very exciting projects, including creating the graphics for the Blade Runner event run by Secret Cinema (pictures below).

Emma & I (Improved)
Here is a book I made in my second year at uni about me and my twin sister. Ive already posted some pictures on this book in an earlier post….but here is some of me redoing it for my portfolio! I decided to change the front cover of it and improved the typography inside. These were only very small changes like kerning but I think it made a difference. Instead of a paper cover I printed on some book cloth which gave it a much nicer finish. This is the third time I have re-bound this book- the more I learnt the more I wanted to improve my book! Here are some pictures of re-binding my new book!

I have also been very busy getting my portfolio complete. I’ve been improving projects and photographing all my work to send off to companies for some more work experience. Anyway here is a picture of my year group on our opening of your degree show….im sitting right at the front in a blue and white striped top. Im on the right my sister is on the left!

Ten Milk Bottles
Here is another project I completed in my third year. It is a set of books based on the concept of waiting. The poem tells a story of a collection of Ten milk bottles slowly deteriorating on a doorstep while waiting to be taken in. The reader has to compose the poem by finding and placing the right ticket onto the correct page from one book to the other. This is done by matching the code number on each page with the code number on the ticket. Readers have to ‘wait’ for the story to develop. reading the poem ticket by ticket creates the feeling of time dragging. To emphasise the concept, the poem is printed on tickets used for queuing.
